ITBP Trooper Injured During Encounter With Naxalites In Narayanpur District

Narayanpur District, October 9, 2021: An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) trooper was injured on Friday when Naxalites fired at him in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, police said.

The incident took place when Constable Sandeep Kumar of the 53rd Battalion was at a mobile check post in his camp in Kohkameta village, Narayanpur Additional Superintendent of Police Neeraj Chandrakar said.

A small team of Maoists fired at him, sparking an exchange of fire. The Naxalites escaped.

The constable sustained a bullet injury near his left shoulder and was treated at the district hospital. He is out of danger, the officer added.
