Bhadradri Kothagudem District, August 2, 2023: Police arrested eight militia members of the CPI (Maoist) at Tippapuram forest area in Cherla mandal in a joint operation with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the district on Wednesday.

As per reports, a joint combing operation was launched by the personnel of the CRPF and Telangana police on August 2, where they arrested eight members of the Kanchalas Rasapalli Revolutionary People’s Committee (RPC) of the Pamed Area Committee of the CPI (Maoist).

The detained party cadres, along with other Maoists, planted a 12 kg landmine beneath a BT road between Gorukonda and Chennapuram villages in Cherla mandal in July of this year.

Cases were registered against them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Explosives Act and different Sections of the IPC at Cherla police station and they would be produced before Bhadrachalam court for judicial remand, Bhadrachalam ASP Paritosh Pankaj said.
