2 CPI (Maoist) Cadres Killed In Action Fighting Security Personnel In Boudh District

Boudh District, April 25, 2024: Two cadres of the CPI (Maoist) were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Parhel Reserve Forest under Kantamal police station of Odisha’s Boudh district early on April 25, a police official announced to the press today.

According to the police official, personnel of the Special Operations Group, an elite anti-Maoist force of the Odisha state police, began a combing operation based on intelligence inputs of Maoist activity in the area. During the search operation, a squad of Maoist cadres opened fire on the SOG personnel, leading to an intense firefight.

“As of now, we have recovered the bodies of two cadres of the Maoist party. A massive combing operation has been launched to capture the fleeing Maoists,” declared Suresh Dev Datta Singh, Additional Director General of Police (Operation).

Besides the bodies of the Maoists, arms, grenades and other articles were recovered from the Parhel Reserve Forest, Mr. Singh stated, adding that the search operation was continuing.

Mr. Singh said the identity and division of the deceased Maoists would be ascertained after carrying out a process of detailed verification.
