NPA Harasses 15th IB Detachment In Negros Occidental Province

A team of the Armando Sumayang Jr. Command – New People’s Army Southwest Negros Guerrilla Front harassed the detachment of the 15th Infantry Battalion-Philippine Army at Sitio Pangi, Barangay Inayawan, Cauyan, Negros Occidental province around 8PM last night, December 11, 2023.

The 15th IB is responsible for the summary killing of three farmers this year, namely Gusting Mapos (May 21 at Sitio Bajay, Barangay Caliling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental province), and Warren Cadarin and Jovy Moreño (November 7 at Sitio Cambaga, Barangay Yaoyao, Cauayan, Negros Occidental province), and tricycle driver Peter Agravante last September 16, whose body was found dumped at Barangay Nagbo-alao, Basay, Negros Oriental province. Meanwhile, the three farmers were wrongly tagged as NPA casualties in “armed encounters.”

The same fascist battalion is the criminal behind the disappearance of peasant organizer Deah Lopez. She was abducted last September 15 with Peter Agravante at Barangay Gil Montilla, Sipalay City. She remains missing until now.

The 15th IB has sowed terror among the people of Cauayan, Sipalay City, Candoni, Kabankalan City and Ilog all throughout 2023. They have perpetrated numerous human rights violations apart from extrajudicial killings such as indiscriminate firing of firearms, indiscriminate shelling, forcible evacuation and displacement, threat, harassment and intimidation, illegal detention and arrest, surveillance, physical assault and/or injury, illegal search and seizure, and encampment in populated areas.
