Biplav Maoist cadres arrested for Chitwan donation drive

CHITWAN: Police arrested two persons affiliated to Biplav-led CPN Maoist on charge of collecting donation from a college operator in Chitwan on Thursday.

According to SP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar at the District Police Office, the arrestees have been identified as Prem Chaudhary and Ramesh Lamichhane.

Police said Chaudhary is the current district chairman of the party’s student wing whereas Lamichhane is his deputy.

Police have claimed that the duo were caught red-handed while bargaining donation at the Gurukul College in Bharatpur.

Earlier, Lamichhane had served a sentence for an arson attack on a truck.
