Bijapur District, April 11, 2024: Two cadres of the CPI (Maoist) were taken into custody by security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Thursday, a police official announced to the press today.

Hunga was active as the head of Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangthan (DAKMS), a frontal organization of the Maoist party, while Budhru was an “improvised explosive device (IED) expert”, the police official stated, adding that the two were allegedly involved in an attack on a police team in the Pegdapalli area of the district in April 2022.
