CPP Statement On Recent NPA Offensive In Batangas Province

The Party and Filipino people welcome news of the successful armed offensive carried out last Monday morning by the New People’s Army against the fascist troops of the 59th Infantry Battalion (IB) which have been carrying out military operations against the peasant masses in Barangay Bignay, Lobo town, Batangas province. The fascist troops suffered at least five casualties.

The NPA carried out the ambush by way of attaining justice for 9-year old Kyllene Casao, who was killed by the 59th IB in Sitio Centro, Barangay Guinhawa, Taysan, Batangas on July 18, 2022, as well as for Maximino Digno, a mentally disabled farmer of Calaca, Batangas, who was also killed by the same unit on July 26, 2022.

Because of its determination to defend the people against fascist oppression and advance their demand for land reform, the NPA will continue to enjoy the widening and deepening support of the peasant masses.
