The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) extends revolutionary greetings to the broad masses of the Filipino people and all the oppressed and exploited people across the world as we enter the new year 2024 filled with greater determination to fight for their economic and political rights and advance their cause for national and social liberation.

Tens of millions of Filipino workers, peasants, semi-proletarian masses, the petty bourgeoisie and national bourgeoisie in the Philippines suffer from worsening socioeconomic conditions and political repression under the US-Marcos regime.

The previous year ended with tens of thousands of jeepney operators and drivers waging a life-and-death battle to defend their lives and livelihood amid intransigence of the Marcos regime to phase-out jeepneys in line with imperialist-dictated policy.

The recent strikes and mass demonstrations forebodes of bigger mass struggles of various democratic sectors in the coming year amid worsening socioeconomic conditions. They are increasingly determined to fight the Marcos regime and its anti-people and oppressive policies and grand-scale corruption.

Amid the Marcos regime’s subservience to US military dictates, the Filipino people’s clamor to dismantle all US military bases and facilities are bound to reverberate in the coming months, and an end to the militarization of the South China Sea by the imperialist US and China. The demand for the release of all political prisoners and an end to the state campaign of extrajudicial killings, abductions and illegal detention, torture, aerial bombings and artillery shelling will continue to be raised by a growing number of sectors.

As we welcome the new year, the Party and all revolutionary forces in the Philippines extend solidarity with the Palestinian people in their continuing resistance to the Zionist genocide of the US-supported Israeli state. We also unite and link up with the mass struggles of millions upon millions of workers, peasants and other oppressed peoples all over the world as they rise up to defend their rights and advance their aspirations for freedom and socialism.

In the coming year, the Party will continue to lead the New People’s Army in advancing the revolutionary armed struggle by waging extensive and intensive guerrilla warfare on an ever widening and deepening mass base. The NPA is determined to recover from its losses and rebuild the mass base by strengthening ties with the peasant masses and helping carry out widespread anti-feudal struggles, and defending them against state fascist forces.

The Party is determined to overcome all challenges as it carries out a campaign to rectify errors and comprehensively strengthen its ranks through a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist study movement, campaign of social investigation, summing-up and self-criticism. We look forward to the coming year as the Party surmounts all obstacles and carries forward the people’s democratic revolution.
