CPI (Maoist) Deputy Militia Commander Detained By Police In Bhadradri Kothagudem District

Bhadradri Kothagudem District, May 19, 2023: Police have arrested a CPI (Maoist) deputy militia commander in Cherla mandal in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Friday.

Bhadrachalam ASP Paritosh Pankaj in a statement informed that deputy militia commander, 28-year-old Sodi Deva of Komatipalli in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh state was detained during vehicle inspections by Cherla police and CRPF 141 Bn personnel on Lenin Colony and Pusuguppa road in the mandal.

According to police, Deva joined the Maoist party’s Komatpalli Revolutionary People’s Committee (RPC) as a militia member in 2019. He was made the deputy militia commander of the RPC last year.

According to the police, Deva was involved in planting a pressure mine in Pusuguppa forest area in Charla mandal along with other militia members led by the CPI (Maoist) Charla Local Organisation Squad (LOS) targeting the combing police parties last year.
