3 Police Informants Executed By CPI (Maoist) Cadres In Kanker District

Kanker District, November 2, 2023: Three persons were executed by cadres of the CPI (Maoist) in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district on suspicion of being informants of the Maharashtra police, officials said on Thursday.

Chhattisgarh police in a statement said they have received information about the incident and further details in this regard are being collected.

Citing initial inputs, the police said that Kulle Katlami (35), Manoj Kovachi (22) and Dugge Kovachi (27), all residents of Morkhandi village under Chhotebethiya police station (Kanker district) adjoining Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district, were executed by a squad of cadres belonging to the CPI (Maoist) on the intervening night of November 1 and November 2.

In pamphlets left at the site, the Maoists claimed that the three were acting as informants for C-60, an elite anti-Maoist unit of the Maharashtra police, the statement said.

Further details in this connection are awaited, it added.
