CPI (Maoist) Reiterates It’s Call For Conditional Peace Talks With Central And State Governments

Mulugu District, April 25, 2025: Reiterating that the CPI (Maoist) is ready for peace talks with the central and state governments, the Maoist party’s North-West Sub-Zonal Bureau has renewed its call for halting the ongoing offensive against the Maoists by security forces, which it called a ‘surround and destroy’ operation, along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana interstate border.

A statement purportedly issued by Comrade Rupesh of the CPI (Maoist) called upon the central government to stop the ongoing ‘Operation Kagaar’ for one month to create a favorable environment for peace talks for the peaceful resolution of the problem through dialogue.

The CPI (Maoist) Central Committee has already released letters expressing our party’s readiness for peace talks as per the wish of all, Comrade Rupesh declared in the statement, adding that the government’s intention appears to be ‘something else’.

In the statement, Comrade Rupesh said that “Despite the opportunity to peacefully resolve the problem through dialogue, the government is trying to resolve it through repression and force.”

“As a consequence, the major offensive by security forces started on Bijapur-Telangana border. This has to be halted immediately and the security forces should be withdrawn,” Rupesh proclaimed in the statement.
