From Ang Bayan: 21 Arab And Islamic Countries Condemn US And Zionist Israel Aggression Against Iran

Ang Bayan Ngayon | June 19, 2025

An alliance of 21 Arab and Islamic countries strongly condemned the US attack, in partnership with Zionist Israel, against Iran in a unified statement published on June 17. Leaders from these countries warned of the severe consequences of this aggression in the Middle East.

The unified statement was signed by the foreign ministers of Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Somalia, Libya, Mauritania, Pakistan, Turkey, Chad, and Brunei. They called for the immediate cessation of Israel’s aggression and the resumption of diplomatic talks.

The statement was released five days after Israel’s initial attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Israel’s bombing and missile strikes significantly harmed civilians, particularly the bombing of a community in Nobonyad, Tehran. This was followed by bombings of a hospital and the headquarters of Iran’s national media.

The statement described Israel’s actions as “brutal aggression” and a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

“The dangerous escalation threatens the peace and stability of the entire region,” the statement warned. It emphasized the need for immediate de-escalation and a comprehensive ceasefire.

The countries expressed deep alarm over Israel’s bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities, especially at the Natanz nuclear site in Isfahan. They stressed that any attack on nuclear installations under the protection of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) constitutes a violation of international and humanitarian law.

The countries called for respect for national sovereignty, the peaceful resolution of disputes, and the immediate resumption of negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program. “The only way forward is through dialogue and adherence to international law,” the statement concluded.

China, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Cuba, and Bolivia also issued statements of condemnation, describing Israel’s attack as a violation of international law.
