NPA Carry Out Successful Sniper Operation On AFP Troops In Negros Occidental Province

Corporal Rodney Luces was killed while PFC Kiel Charles Pama of the 62nd IBPA was wounded in a successful sniping operation by the New People’s Army in Purok Dalaupan, Brgy Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental province around 6:30 a.m. on June 9, 2021.

The Mount Cansermon Command New People’s Army South Central Negros Guerrilla Front congratulates the brave red fighters in the conducted offensive against the ranks of the 62nd IBPA which inflicted casualties on the said fascist troops.

The NPA’s tactical offensive in South Central Negros is the answer to the long-sought justice of victims of human rights violations such as threats, illegal arrests and killings of farmers, activists and other people protesting for real land reform and national industrialization where true freedom and democracy can prevail.

There was no second round of fighting between the New People’s Army and troops of the 62nd IBPA in other areas of Himamaylan at that time. This is contrary to the statement of Maj. Cennon Pancito of the 3ID Philippine Army. Elmer Kisan was actually ambushed by the said military troops while the military was conducting a hot pursuit operation a few hours ago in the sniping operation launched by the New People’s Army in the area. Kisan is an innocent farmer and active worker of the Mosser Foundation. The military deliberately shot and killed Kisan in retaliation and to cover up their safety which caused havoc among their ranks.

The MCC-NPA strongly condemns the military’s firing, especially its indiscriminate mortar bombardment in the mountainous forests of Brgy Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental province. This created fear and panic among the people. Hardly able to go to their farms and even to take care of their livestock.The livelihood of the people has been displaced due to the recorded military operations of the fascist troops of the 62nd and 94th IBPA.

The military isn’t the main need of the peasants. But land livelihood, fair wages, adequate social services and assistance in the face of the severe famine caused by the Covid-19 pandemic today.

The Mount Cansermon Command New People’s Army also condemned the illegal arrest of 2 farmers in Brgy Buenavista, Kenneth Nabong and Jayson John Gazon on June 9, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. NPA members were tortured, forced to surrender and also insisted that they were part of the NPA unit that sniped their troops in Purok Dalaupan, Brgy. Carabalan at 6:30 p.m. For evidence to be obtained from Kenneth and Jason, they were both planted with 2 45 cal. pistol, ammunition and magazines of the desperate combined troops of the 94th and 62nd IBPA.

Human rights violations have increased in Central Negros as a result of incessant military operations in the Himamaylan, Binalbagan, Kabankalan, Tayasan and part of Jimalalud mountains because the military wants to intimidate and harass the people living around the Cambantug-Tahud mountains. Ilahas by order of Ramon Ang. Ramon Ang, identifies as the owner of more than 1,100 hectares of land intended to be mined. If mining continues, crops, cultivated land and other livelihoods will be affected by more than 1,000 families and households equivalent to 5,000-6,000 individuals. At least 10 villages around the said mining area from all 5 towns and cities in Negros Oriental and Occidental are affected. The rivers around this area such as Paniplan, Hilabangan, Pacuan and other streams and streams near the mining area will also be affected.

While the Filipino people are suffering from hunger and poverty in the midst of the pandemic, the exploitation of foreign mines in the country will also be recorded. This is the result of the full implementation of neo-liberal policies especially Duterte’s play on the moratorium on harmful and anti-foreign mining in the country. It means that the Duterte regime wants to undermine the mass of foreign capitalists in the country’s natural resources like the ridiculous and treacherous stance of Duterte and his minions in the West Philippine Sea against foreign and greedy China.

The fascist AFP, PNP and the US-Duterte regime are clearly useless in defending the interests and sovereignty of the Philippine nation. On the contrary, they claim that they are the protectors of the Filipino people. They do not promote the democratic interests of the masses and the oppressed people, but they defend the interests of the ruling classes, especially the landlords, the big comprador bourgeoisie and the foreign monopoly capitalists.
