2 Alleged Naxalites Killed Battling Security Forces In Sukma District
Sukma District, March 1, 2025: Two persons police claim are Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Saturday, Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan announced to the press today.
According to the SP, the firefight broke out around 9am in the forest of Gundrajgudem village under the Kistaram police station area when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxalite operation.
In his remarks, the SP stated that personnel belonging to the District Reserve Guard and CRPF’s elite unit CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) were involved in the combing operation launched on Friday based on intelligence inputs about the presence of Naxalites in the area.
As per the SP’s statement, after the intermittent exchange of fire stopped the bodies of two individuals purported to be Naxalites, clad in ‘uniform’, were recovered from the encounter site.
The SP concluded his remarks by saying that blood stains found at the spot indicate that several other alleged Naxalites were either killed or injured in the gun battle, adding that a search operation by security forces was still underway in the area.
