Ex-LTTE detained In Pune for travelling with fake passport

Sept 01, Pune: Indian intelligence and airport authorities in Pune Thursday morning have detained a tamil suspected of having links to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), according to a report in Daily News & Analysis.

The tamil has been identified as Suthan Suppiah.

According to the police sources, on receipt of specific information, Intelligence Bureau and CISF officials detained the tamil who was boarding a Lufthansa flight for Frankfurt early morning on Thursday.

During interrogation the individual has told the authorities told that he had worked for LTTE, an organization banned in India.

“He has forged passport and visa. While passport had his name as Marimuthuraju, his real name Suthan Suppiah. We are verifying his claims,” an intelligence officer said.

The tamil is presently being interrogated at Vimannagar police station in Pune.
