Éirígí Disrupt British Military Recruitment in Ireland

Éirígí activists today disrupted a British Navy recruitment stall at Queen’s University in Belfast.

Members of the socialist republican party blocked the British military recruitment stall, by displaying a banner which read ‘The British Army- Committing Genocide for Generations’ and distributing leaflets calling on the youth of Ireland not to join the British Army.

During the protest, éirígí activists were physically confronted by members of G4S private security, highlighting, once again, the links between this private security firm and international imperialism. From Ireland to Palestine G4S have been complicit in working to uphold the interests of imperialism.

Today’s action confirms that Britain’s ongoing illegal occupation of Ireland, will continue to be opposed.
